Bombanana Speedruns and Records: Demo Any% and Level Times
Records on video (demo build)
| Category | Time | Who | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demo any% (levels 1–7, all POVs) | 4:53.74 → retimed 4:28 | Cob’s trio (Jul 26) | The description says “the actual time is 4:25… run was retimed to a 4:28” |
| Level 2 | 29 s | JensonGoat123 | Cable + Direction |
| Level 3 | 20 s | JensonGoat123 | Calculation module |
| Level 7 | 35 s | minoon | Demo finale, all four modules |
There is no speedrun.com board for the game yet and no in-game timer beyond the bomb clock, so “world record” here means the fastest video anyone has posted. Full-game (30-level) runs did not exist when this page was written; the Master Defuser achievement was at 2.7%.
How runners talk
Cob’s run is the clearest example of a rehearsed callout chain. On a bomb with a numpad, a direction pad and switches, the Deaf Monkey names the module set once (“wire, numpad, direction”) and then speaks only values: “first and green. Four. Left. Blue. Seven. Down.” Nothing is repeated because the trio agreed the order of modules before the run. The same run shows the cost of one hesitation — a “wait, which one’s left?” costs more time than any module.
What the records tell a normal trio
- Level 1 is a single cable and can be done in well under 15 seconds.
- The demo’s hardest time sink was level 5’s switch panel; runners pre-read the colour-order table.
- The bomb clock, not the puzzle, sets the pace: once the manual holder knows the page layout, most of the run is arithmetic and repeating numbers.
