Bombanana Direction Module: Braille, Light and Arrows

The rule, as read aloud

Two separate trios read this page on camera, and the wording matches: “Press the correct direction button based on the number written in Braille, and the color of the active light.” The page is a grid of numbers against light colours; each cell is an arrow.

What each role sees

  • Deaf Monkey: four arrow buttons (up, right, down, left) around a small dot cluster, plus a coloured LED. “It looks like a Tamagotchi,” as one streamer put it.
  • Blind Monkey: the arrows as outlines; hovering the centre dots shows the number. See how Braille works here.
  • Mute Monkey: the page.

The callout

Deaf: “Direction pad, bottom right. Light red.” Blind: “Dots say seven.” Mute: finds red / 7, signals up (pointing, emote, or nodding when the Deaf Monkey guesses). Deaf: “Press up.” Blind: “Pressing up.”

Some bombs put more than one direction step on the pad — KYRSP33DY’s trio worked one where “you need to press them in order based on the number in the middle” and the number changed after each press. Re-hover the dots after every input.

Whose left is left?

The oldest argument in the game. The manual’s arrows are absolute (up is the top button of the pad); the confusion comes from players saying “left” while picturing the van from different seats. Fix it once: “left” always means the left arrow on the pad as the Blind Monkey faces it, and nobody says “my left”.

Where it appears

Level 2 of the demo introduced it next to the Cable module (“level two is just those two thingies… adding one more module”); in 1.0 it arrives after the Color Slider, around level 3–4, with the first CHAOS slider.
